What is Tony Reading?
Many of you enjoy the daily Mind Nuggets I share on Facebook and I’m continually asked, “Tony, what books are your reading or do you recommend?” To help answer the question, save you time and encourage you in your quest for life-long learning, here’s this week’s featured recommended read.
The Magic of Prayers: 70 Powerful Prayers to Manifest What You Desire, by Lee Milteer.
I’ve been a fan of Lee’s teachings and writings for many years. In her new book, she takes a venture into a realm that most people who know her reputation may initially find confusing: spirituality. I’m excited for her new focus the past few years and here’s why: we’re allowed to change and reinvent ourselves any time we choose.
Yes, Lee is brilliant as a coach and thought leader and this book helps round out her skills and talents. In my faith walk I pray each day and make feeding my spiritual goals a priority. For many year’s I didn’t. Again, time and the ability to change are indeed a good thing, so I’m grateful for this positive change in my own life journey.
Let me be clear and upfront: this book is timely and relevant for anyone, regardless of their faith path. To judge this book immediately by the cover or title, and label it for only one religion versus another is shallow and short-sided. As I read the opening of the book and why Lee wrote it, my mind became more and more inspired to read it.
As I dove deeper into the book, I found the prayers to not only be well written, and from a deep place, but several of them matched up to specific challenges and opportunities I’m currently dealing with in my own life. That is not easy to do. It’s the deep connection and goal of an artist laying out their words and soul on paper for their intended audience to have them connect with their message. I’m glad to report that Lee has done just that.
Under the Cover
Here’s one of my favorite prayers from page 63:
Prayer of Joy
Help me to take myself lightly
so that I may play with the angels.
I know that I bring the power of joy
into my relationships and into
each day and every environment.
Thank you for reminding me to
Be “light” on my feet! So be it.
Thank you. Amen.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving this week here in the U.S. I highly encourage you to get this book. When it arrives on your Kindle or in book form, take it to a quiet place and read it with both an open mind and open soul. Let Lee’s wisdom and prayers sink in and help lead you to a better place and a better space. But most importantly, let it help you realize that you are never alone on your faith walk God on the mortal journey known as life.
