Empaths Need 8 rules To Thrive

For many years I had no idea I was an Empath: I knew I was sensitive and could discern others feelings.

Often I would feel just fine and suddenly realize that my mood had shifted to something that did not feel like me when I was in large crowds or anytime in groups of people. I had no idea I was picking up the energy of others. After speaking, I used to sometimes feel sad or depressed for no reasons I could understand and finally I learned that I was very sensitive to the energy of the people around me. I finally found out that I had to protect myself and started to research what being an Empath meant. The dictionary describes: Empath (noun) a person with the paranormal ability to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual.

If you are an empath, you are highly sensitive and feel and absorb other people’s emotions and sometimes physical symptoms. You tend to filter the world through your intuition and often have a challenging time intellectualizing your feelings. When you are overwhelmed with the deluge of negative emotions.  Empaths often experience pockets of feeling depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, which triggers binges of food, drugs, or shopping, meaning people who are overwhelmed are doing anything to stop feeling so out of control trying to get relief.

I will share with you being an empath has many positive attributes including have a huge heart, great support system for others, being intuitive, knowing things others simply do not know.

Your point of power:
Rules to Remember to Keep yourself Balanced.

1. Be aware you are highly sensitive: Since you are so highly attuned to other people’s moods and energy level, refrain from being around insensitive people as much as you can.

Since your feelings can get hurt very easily just accept the reality that there are certain people who have NO sensitivity, are self-centered and don’t care how you feel. Your job is to observe who is literally NOT GOOD for you and remove yourself as fast as possible.

2. Many Empaths are Introverted. Stay away from large crowds, parties, events which can amplify your empathy in a negative way. Give yourself a time limit when in large groups and plan in advance when you are going to depart and how that is going to happen to protect yourself. Don’t accept invitations that you know will throw your energy off.

3. Empaths Need Time Alone. Since most Empaths are super-responsive, they can find being around people too long is draining. Schedule time alone daily even if that mean walking alone in nature or time for meditation. Stop being all things to all people! Take your own car when you meet people so you are free to leave on your own schedule. When in large groups, such as seminars, take regular mini breaks. Even a brief escape prevents emotional overloads.

4. Empaths are targets for energy vampires so being it can feel like being an Empath is a curse. However once you KNOW that your sensitivity makes you an easy mark for energy vampires whose anger and rage can destroy, your peace of mind again be proactive. There is no law you have to give these people your time or ear! Be so busy with your own life and projects you simply say NO. Don’t let anyone live in your head RENT FREE! Plus be very aware of the dangerous narcissists who lack empathy and are always ONLY concerned with their own agenda. These narcissists often are so manipulating that they try to make Empaths believe they’re unworthy and unlovable. (Don’t buy that and remove yourself from these poison people now!!)

5. Empaths have highly tuned senses. So once you are in a situation where your nerves are frayed by excessive noise or talking, overwhelming smells you must take this AWARENESS and remove yourself as soon as possible or simply refuse to expose yourself to those environments. For example, I avoid bars, gambling casinos, huge crowds for outside events because I know I will be miserable. I say NO in advance.

6. Empaths are very effected by negative News. For next 30 days simply cut off reading newspapers, negative news mags, and all News. I cut back on social media from all the political hate mongering.

7. Empaths can become overwhelmed in intimate relationships. The truth is that too much togetherness can be really challenging for us! Many get engulfed and lose their identity. It’s important to carve out alone time for yourself to make relationships work. I have to even let office staff go if they can not control their own emotions and spew negative thoughts or anger and can’t be positive around me. I have to be on guard with  who is around me for my own peace of mind.

8. Empaths have huge hearts and often Sacrifice themselves to help others. As an Empath, I use all the strategies I am sharing with you. I set fierce time management boundaries with draining people,. (See my product: Time Vampires)

I daily pray, mediate, spend time in nature and with my Animal companions to stay calm and keep centered.

These are a few tips that can simply make you have more awareness that you are 100% responsible to protect yourself, have boundaries and the courage to step out of situations that overwhelm you and are not beneficial.

Best to you!

Reframing Disappointment & Setbacks

Reframing Disappointment & Setbacks

Hi Everybody,

Today we’re going to talk about failure, setbacks, and disappointment.  Welcome to being human! Everybody has failures, setbacks, and disappointments. It’s how you HANDLE THEM that counts!

Here’s the truth – the one thing that you MUST do when you have these things is expel this energy from your body and from your mind.   You can do it by taking a hard walk.  You can do it by some vigorous exercise.  You can do it by writing in your journal or talking to a trusted friend. But you must give yourself a time limit on how long you’re going to mourn the situation.   For example, I give myself 20-30 minutes to mourn the situation. If it’s really bad, then maybe I give myself an hour but then I give myself a reality-check to remind myself that “What I focus on expands”. So, here’s the truth:  Within every disaster there is a seed of something new that can be born if you’re willing to look for it.  If you start to look at the situation as “Ok, maybe the “Universe” (God) doesn’t want me to go in that direction because it’s not in my highest and best good.  Maybe there’s something much better for me if I don’t go in that direction.”  Take that knowledge and start to look for other opportunities.

A number of years ago I worked for a promoter in Canada and did very well with them.  My bookings were full, I made a lot of money and I loved working with these people. One month I didn’t get a check from them when they were always on time. I called them up and they just said they were having some hiccups.  The next month I didn’t get a check.  By the third month I knew something was desperately wrong.  Sure enough they were bankrupt.  I don’t mind telling you that I was deeply disappointed.  My books went from full to almost empty and there was a lot of money I needed to replace very quickly. So, I walked on the beach and AFTER I got rid of the anger, frustration, and victimhood I REFRAMED this and started asking questions because QUESTIONS are the secret of success.  Here are the questions I asked myself:

  • How can I use this situation and make money from it?
  • What is the benefit of this situation going bad?
  • What are my next steps to benefit from this situation?

Within 24 hours, in the shower of all places (which is a magical place for me with all of that tile and water), I got a “hit” to go call the trustees of the bankruptcy and try to buy the booking company’s mailing list.  They had no idea how much that mailing list was worth! I bought it for a song and hired a couple of the employees from the booking company and started my own company in Toronto (remember, I’m from Virginia Beach, Virginia) with a partner in Canada and we formed Milteer & Ross.  That company minted money!  We made seminars ROCK for Canadian government employees.  I’m telling you it was a phenomenal deal.  I made triple the money because instead of staying depressed and down, I turned the whole thing into a reframing to look for way to make it work for me.

Every day in your life there are going to be disappointments. Get out of victimhood! I know when I say that I am annoying many people who just love to live in victimhood. But remember, LIFE IS A MIRROR.  It’s a reflection of you. When you go into victimhood with thoughts like:

“I’m not worthy.”
“Nobody loves me.”
“Nobody recognizes me.”
“Nobody appreciates me.”
“Everything I touch falls to hell in a handbasket.”

When you’re in the mindset of only seeing things through that filter, you’re only going to attract more of THAT into your life.

Again, THERE IS A SEED OF OPPORTUNITY IN EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT OR “NEGATIVE” SITUATION but you need to give yourself permission to stop the negativity and complaining.  Give yourself a few minutes to expel it out and then start looking for ways to take your personal power back.  You need to realize that complaining is an addiction that keeps you weak and in victimhood.

Since the world is a reflection of you – you need to reframe your thinking towards thoughts like:

“Good things are coming happening to me.”
“I know this has happened for my highest and best good.”
“This is not a reflection of my personal worth or value. It’s just a challenge and challenges can be overcome.”

Start keeping what I call an “Evidence Book.”  In this book write down all of the positive things that come your way.  Even the smallest of things.  Then refer back to this book when you’re having a day when things just don’t seem to be going your way.  This is the perfect negative thinking PATTERN INTERRUPT to get your brain back on track to look for solutions instead of wallowing in the muck and mire of the situation.

This past month I had a huge disappointment.  I had trained someone for six months to be my personal assistant but due to some medical issues that were totally unexpected she had to resign.  For the first 30-minutes I was pretty ticked off, upset, and confused.  But I took it as a sign that I need to look at my life differently.  I asked myself if I really need a full-time, in-my-office assistant OR should I consider other avenues? Maybe a virtual assistant would be enough.  I could then rent out the open offices in my office building and add to my income that way.  What this change has done for me is opened up in my mind a whole new set of questions. Remember – questions are the secret of success.

So, when you have a negative day with setbacks and failures – love yourself enough to let the negative energy out for a short period of time, stop complaining and looking for way to take the negative situation and flip it around to be a stepping stone for something fabulous in your life!

Life is a Journey Not a Destination

Life is a Journey Not a Destination

Today I want to talk about the journey of life!

We spend so much time on our ambition that we often FORGET that Life is a Journey, Not a Destination. We forget this truth all the time, folks! Instead, we only focus on the destination in life while suffering through the journey part.Your time is your true currency and if you are wasting it suffering through your life trying to reach your goals, then what? More goals to work toward?

Let me ask you a few perspective altering questions:

Have you become a difficult task master to yourself?

Have you allowed business and making money to create security to overshadow having fun and enjoying your time right now?

When is it your turn to be happy and enjoy life?

When is it your turn to temporarily cut off the overwhelming ambition for creating stuff in the future by sacrificing today?

Today is the only day you have – SO BE IN THE PRESENT! Stop worrying about the future. If you do the right things today, the future will take care of itself. Please hear me when I say: Stop beating yourself up!Whether its about the mistakes of the past or any regrets you may have, the past is a locked door and you cannot turn back the face of time. You can, however, learn from the past and create a better future.

How about enjoying the time you have right now? Who knows when your expiration date is?Why not give yourself a break and give yourself permission to just enjoy life and not take yourself so seriously! How much we enjoy this journey depends on our attitudes about the journey.

This is Lee Milteer reminding you to stay in the present because life will pass you by if you do not participate in the journey!

The Power of Complaining

The Power of Complaining

Today I want to talk about the power of complaining! Let’s talk about how complaining has helped you, hint – it hasn’t! But it HAS hurt you. Complaining allows you to focus on things that are not beneficial to you and causes you to be a part of the negative masses. The power of complaining is that it makes you a VICTIM and costs you money. As soon as you start focusing on complaining about what’s wrong with life, your brain is not looking for creative ways to bring you profit or ways to achieve a more beautiful life!

Complaining forces you to be a victim so that you feel helpless, passionless, and without motivation. The power of complaining is so destructive, and yet everyone does it. In fact, its difficult NOT to do it because its such a part of our culture.

Friends, I urge you for the next thirty days to participate in a complaining diet, don’t complain about anything! Whether its people on social media being idiots, bad drivers, the weather, or even the government – don’t complain. If you start complaining you must start the thirty day count over again from zero. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all and watch as your life is enlivened.

With this simple solution your creativity will soar, your health will become more vibrant, your relationships will become better, and prosperity will seek YOU out.

There are a couple of things you NEED to know.

1. Success Is An Inside Job

2. We are self-fulfilling prophecies. What you think and speak into the world will become true for you.

I want you to love yourself enough that you take back your power from the complaining monster and stop letting the external world decide your future.

I’ve been working on my Vision Quest today that is coming up on October 5 – 6 of this year. If you are interested in joining me at this event you can visit my website

This Vision Quest for Profit and Purpose is meant for adventurous people who want to take back their life from all of the drudgery that can bring you down. The negative energy, fear, and doubt that is preying on you will disappear and life CAN get better when you decide to vibrate on an entirely different level and change your focus to the positive.

In fact, focus is the secret! Bottom line: what you focus on always expands.

I hope you’ll join me on my Vision Quest, but, most importantly, I hope you will commit to NO complaining for the next thirty days! If you can do that, your life will magnetize incredible miracles and beautiful things to itself.
