Your Greatness Comes From Within

Your Greatness Comes From Within

Keep moving forward

The next time you meet with adversity, temporary defeat, or failure, remember that although you may have no control over the revolutionary changes or unpleasant circumstances, you do have control over your reaction to these circumstances.

Exercise this privilege by searching for the seed of opportunity, which is carried in every experience of adversity and sorrow.

We must choose to be proactive in life and not let life happen to us. We must be driven by our values and goals, not by outside circumstances. You do not have to be a victim of circumstance; you make your own environment because you are the creator of your life by using your thoughts and actions. Your greatness comes from within, so start today to capitalize on your own talents and potential. The emphasis in our lives should be on developing the vision; to see beyond the current situation we must develop mental control over our emotions, feel our own power, and assume responsibility for our future.

Dealing with change effectively requires us to question our perceptions. The way we look at the world clearly determines how we interpret the events going on inside and outside of ourselves. Our perceptions filter all our incoming experiences of life. Often, these perceptions are strongly held rules and regulations in our minds that can blind us to creative solutions. When we resist new ideas, we reject new ways of thinking before we even give them a chance.

Your vision can be magical

Thinking that the future can or will be the same as the past is a fallacy. Beware when your vision is narrowed by the old way of looking at life; from business people not seeing new opportunities or new markets, to parents not questioning how their children should be raised. When our perspective is too narrow, we tend to hang on to traditions, regardless of change and ignore new ways of thinking.

I want you to add the spiritual realm to your perspective.  Since you co-create with Infinite Intelligence, I suggest that you explore how you can assist yourself in creating prayers, rituals, and new attitudes and actions that will shift the direction of your own life right now.

To help you with this, I’d like to gift you with one module from my current online course “12 Spiritual Solutions For Every Day Problems. I think you’ll see exactly what I mean about charting your own life direction and how much prayers and rituals can help.

The world is moving at
warp speed

Change is happening so fast now that it’s almost impossible to document – everywhere and in every walk of life. Life seems to be going at warp speed, as the world gets smaller because of advanced forms of communication and the ability to process information. Competition is now stronger than ever in our global economy.

Instead of letting change overwhelm us, we must become adaptive and, in fact become what I call early adapters.  To make the most of change, we must make our own luck by learning new skills and attitudes. Instead of seeing change as something to resist or fear, we have the power within us to see change as a new and wonderful opportunity to tap into our potential.

Old habits, solutions, and experiences may not always work in today’s fast-paced world. We must make new choices. Our goal is to become conscious of how we are using our mental, physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual life energies in dealing with change. Our thoughts, intentions, and actions create our future. It is said that destiny is the consequence of your daily decisions. It is the decisions you make in your life, not the circumstances, that will make the crucial difference in how you handle the change that is taking place daily.

The time is now

So dealing with change takes determination, persistence, and courage. Our challenge is to enlarge the repertoire of resources we have in order to deal with it and prosper from that change. We want to remove our past limitations and create strategies to increase the quality of our lives. It’s important that we become conscious of how our actions create effects and how those effects create our future.

It is very empowering when you finally realize that by choosing your response to any circumstance, you are powerfully affecting your future. By taking responsibility for your own life, you immediately alter the circumstance and its outcome. The true test of an individual’s character is what you do when the events around you are not supportive.

Sometimes we have to gracefully accept that there are things we cannot change and learn to live with them, even when we don’t like it. In making this powerful choice, we do not allow the problems to control us.

The Alcoholics Anonymous program sums it up well with the Serenity Prayer:

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

I like this quote because it reminds me that the outside world might not change BUT I CAN CHANGE WITHIN MYSELF. That is where my power lies…and yours too! It’s time to tap into your inner power. Next week I will share more about dealing with change.

Your Power Is In The Quiet

Your Power Is In The Quiet

If you have gotten so busy with life and consequently out of the habit of taking 20 to 30 minutes a day for quiet time or mediation please allow me to remind you how important it is for you to put things in perspective in today’s crazy world.

We are all dealing with so much stress and upheaval, that we often allow other things to rule our lives and time, and we forget to do the very things that give us sanity and peace.

I sincerely believe that one of biggest perks of meditation is the ability it gives you to achieve a completely relaxed state where you can tune out the outside world and its endless to-do lists. It is only when you are in such a relaxed state, that you can be creative and listen to your intuition – to know the right path to take in this ever-changing world.

When you are uptight, anxiety and fearful thoughts will hold you back from listening to those inner messages of what you really want for yourself. Taking time to meditate allows you to align yourself with your highest and best good. Creating a time each day for inner reflection and listening to yourself helps to reduce your stress and allows you to feel centered and in control of your life.

One of the greatest benefits of meditation is that it removes you from your customary state of awareness and allows a new perception to flow into your consciousness – new ideas and actions that will benefit you. When practiced on a regular basis, meditation can relax and heal your body, making you more efficient mentally, creatively, and intuitively. Meditation also results in a more balanced, integrated, and harmonious personality.

Take advantage of the fall
weather – go into nature

By using quiet time we are simply stilling the ordinary, habitual chatter of our minds and relaxing the tensions of our stress-reactive bodies. I highly recommend that you take advantage of the fall weather and go into nature. Take a walk and allow mother earth to comfort and inspire you. As you quiet your mind, connect with nature, and listen for inspiration, you will receive creative solutions. The answers you are waiting for are ready to be given to you, if you will make the time and space to hear them.

Heeding The Early Warning Signals

Heeding The Early Warning Signals

We need new ideas to grow

As I often mention, your real power is right now. I encourage you to scan the landscape of your life, work, and relationships and determine if, like my house plants, you have become root bound. Have you outgrown your present space? If you’re not being fed and nurtured and are lacking room to grow, you will wither and die on the vine.

In order to grow, we need new ideas, new ways of doing things, new ways to stimulate our thinking and behaviors. We cannot rest on our past successes to pull us through the new times we are living in.

Times are changing and you can’t count on what used to work anymore. You need to heed the early warning signals about what is happening in your world. It is much better to be proactive in your life and notice what’s going on that doesn’t suit you rather than being reactive and try to save yourself when things go south.

If you feel bound, like you’re not being nurtured, if you’ve lost interest or they’ve lost interest in you, you have to be honest with yourself and be willing to see that something needs to change. Putting your head in the sand hoping that change won’t affect you is useless because things will change whether you like it or not. That is what life is—change, adapting and moving on.

Often times, the only way to improve your reality is to force yourself to undergo difficult transitions that might make you feel uncomfortable. Change can be scary and challenging but it’s necessary if you want to build a happy, secure, successful future.

Right now you should be looking at everything in your life and asking the question, where do I need to update and upgrade? What do I need to release? Only you can answer these important questions because you and only you are in charge of your destiny.

Listen to your inner self about what you need to change before it changes you!
